Donnie Dale Whitfield Orts, 93, passed away peacefully on the morning of November 4, 2015, at the Broadmoor Senior Living Facility in Bryan, Texas. Donnie was born in the town of Valley Mills in Bosque, Texas on February 20 1922. She was the youngest child of James Gertrude Reeder Whitfield and Thomas Burmer Whitfield. When her family moved to Hearne, Texas Donnie met and married George N. Orts Jr. on February 22, 1941. They were married just shy of 74 years and had two children; James Michael and Georgia Carolyn. Donnie is preceded in death by her mother and father; James Gertrude Reeder Whitfield and Thomas Burmer Whitfield, daughter; Georgia Carolyn, husband; George N. Orts Jr., Brother; Giles Burmer Whitfield, and sister; Blanche Goodwin. She is survived by her son and daughter in law; Mike and Ettie Orts of Wheelock, Texas, grandchildren; Shelly and Kenneth Speaks, Kim and Charles Becan, and Michael Roll, 8 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. A family memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Heartfield-Ritter Funeral Home in Hearne, Texas on Saturday, November 14 at 10:00 a.m.
