
Kenneth Lee DeZavala 56, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 at his home with his wife at his side. Kenneth Lee DeZavala was born April 7, 1959 and to L.K. and Rachel Sugg DeZavala and raised in Freeport, Texas. Kenneth grew up with his greatest love the salt water and everything in it and on it. He graduated from Brazosport High School in 1977. Kenneth worked for Dow Chemical many years and then moving north to ranch and took a position with Texas A&M University as a Instrumentation and Electrical Supervisor. There he won many awards including the President’s Meritorious Service Award in 1999 and was given to him and his team by the University President, Ray M. Bowen. Kenneth’s true passion in life was Sport Fishing and he was Mate for the “Sea Angel Fishing Team and earned the title “Rhino”. He is survived in his life by his wife; Mischele DeZavala, his parents: L.K. and Rachel Sugg DeZavala of Franklin, a sister and brother-in-law; Lynn and Ellis Waller of Austin, Texas, one son; Dale DeZavala of Tyler, Texas, daughters; Brook Nicole DeZavala of Meridian, Texas, Meghan Vasiliou of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and Laney DeZavala of Franklin, Texas. Four grandsons; Brandon, Ty, Levi, and Cade. Kenneth was a loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. His family extends into Pennsylvania where his wife’s family resides. A Catholic Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 31, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi, 1371 FM 1644, Franklin, Texas, 77856. Father Celson Yu will preside over the services. All arrangements are entrusted to McCauley Funeral Home, Inc. Franklin, Texas. The DeZavala Family extends an invitation following Mass in the Parish Hall for refreshments and fellowship.
