
Ralph Eugene Hopcus, Sr., 80, of Bremond, passed away Friday, June 26, 2015. He was born in Bremond to Louis Hopcus and Hedwig Kronenberger Hopcus on April 22, 1935 and lived there almost his entire life except for eleven years when he lived in Dallas. Ralph owned Ralph’s Bar-be-que in Bremond for many years. He was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and also the Knights of Columbus. Visitation and Rosary were held Monday, June 29, at Bremond Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, June 30, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bremond with interment that followed in the church cemetery. Services were officiated by Father Celso Yu, Father Richard Dee Du, Monsignor Boli Zientek, and Monsignor Louis Wozniak. Pallbearers were his grandsons. Ralph is survived by his wife, Augustine “Tinka” Wierzbicki Hopcus; son and daughter-in-law, Ralph Jr. and Sherry Hopcus; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and John “Bubba” Green all of Bremond; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bernard and Patsy Hopcus of Bryan; Tommy and Trish Hopcus of Carrollton; sisters and brother-in-law, Frances Winn of Arlington, Texas; Bernadine Phillip of Mesquite, Dorothy and Richard Moore of Cleveland, Texas; Cecilia Williams of Bryan; grandsons, Jason, Michael, Daniel, and Brandon Green; Jeremy Hopcus, Sr., and Buck Windham; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and many friends. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bremond. Arrangements were entrusted to Bremond Funeral Home.
